Dovedale is a beautiful valley in the Peak District National Park; 40 minute drive from the Portland Hotel, which is owned and managed by the National Trust. A renowned beauty-spot, Dovedale is best known for its impressive limestone ravines. Once you arrive at the nearby car park its just a short walk across a wooden bridge to get to the River Dove. There you can continue passed Thorpe Cave and carry on up the river which is a great family friendly walk with lots of wildlife and woodlands to explore along the riverside pathway.
